When is Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary?
The celebration will kick off on May 16 and run through summer 2026 with new experiences, entertainment, and more all focused around the theme – “Celebrate Happy.”

Limited-Time Entertainment
Disneyland is celebrating its magical 70th Anniversary with limited-time entertainment that brings nostalgia and excitement to the park. Guests can enjoy exclusive parades featuring classic characters, dazzling nighttime spectaculars with enhanced fireworks and projections, and pop-up performances paying tribute to seven decades of Disney magic. World of Color Happiness! (Disney California Adventure): Beginning May 16, 2025
An all-new World of Color show will debut on May 16, 2025 on Paradise Bay in Disney California Adventure Park and is inspired by Walt Disney’s opening day park dedication from seven decades ago. The show will be hosted by Joy and other Emotions from Pixar Animations Studio films, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” The show will also include music from Boyz II Men, who will lend their vocals in a rendition of “Rainbow Connection,” and FITZ will debut a new original song titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”
In advance of the first showing of World of Color Happiness each day, guests can cast their vote for one of four Emotions from Inside Out and Inside Out 2 – Sadness, Anger, Disgust, or Envy – to see them featured in specials scenes throughout both shows.
Paint the Night Parade (Disneyland): Beginning May 16, 2025
After a long hiatus, the fan-favorite “Paint the Night” Parade returns to Disneyland Park to light up Main Street, U.S.A. each evening. Anna and Elsa will rejoin the parade with a float inspired by Disney Animation’s “Frozen.”
Wondrous Journeys (Disneyland): Beginning May 16, 2025
Wondrous Journeys will return to Disneyland, celebrating the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studio. The nighttime spectacular features state-of-the-art-projection effects that transform Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America. Fireworks will enhance the show on select nights.
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! (Disney California Adventure): Beginning May 16, 2025
Nearly 30 characters from beloved Pixar Animation Studios films will take part in “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” when daytime parade returns to Disney California Adventure Park beginning May 16, 2025. Be on the lookout for a special Dessert Party and viewing experience that is able to be booked through the Disneyland app.
Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy! Cavalcade (Disneyland): Beginning May 16, 2025
A brand-new cavalcade will make it’s way through Disneyland park when the 70th Anniversary Celebration kicks off and includes favorite Disney characters from beloved films. The cavalcade will also include Duffy and Shellie May!
Carthay Circle Celebrate Happy Moments (Disney California Adventure): Beginning May 16, 2025
Each evening beginning May 16, 2025, Carthay Circle Restaurant will invite guests to “Celebrate Happy” during special moments filled with music, lights, and projections effects.
“Tapestry of Happiness” (Disneyland): Beginning May 16, 2025
The facade of “it’s a small world” will come to life each night through light, music and projection effects. “Tapestry of Happiness” will create an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories brought to life in a unique style inspired by the work of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life: Beginning July 17, 2025
Walt Disney – A Magical Life is expected to run past the end of the 70th Celebration and will include the first audio-animatronic of Walt Disney. The show will be located in the Town Square Theatre on Main Street, U.S.A.
Attraction Magic
Two attractions will get a bit of pixie dust sprinkled on them for the 70th Anniversary Celebration. Miguel and Dante from “Coco” will join the other children singing in the Mexico scene in “it’s a small world” beginning May 13, 2025.
Toy Story Midway Mania! over at Disney California Adventure Park will also get some nods to the 70th Celebration.

70th Anniversary Tour
To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland, a new two-hour tour will be offered. A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour will take guests on a journey through the rich heritage of the Disneyland Park from opening day attractions to the latest innovations. Reservations will be available at disneyland.com beginning April 24, 2025.
Colorful Decor
To celebrate the 70th Anniversary, colorful decor will adorn the entire Disneyland Resort, including an elegant medallion atop Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Special MagicBand+ Effects
As guests wander through Disneyland, five fun surprises will await you in Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Frontierland. MagicBand+ will unlock interactions and effects inspired by the opening day attractions. They will also interact with celebration entertainment including Paint the Night, Tapestry of Happiness, World of Color Happiness!, and Wondrous Journeys.
70th Anniversary PhotoPass Magic Shots
Beginning May 16, a new series of Magic Shots and Disney PhotoPass Lenses will be available to guests visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. As a reminder, when you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you will receive unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos for that date.
Celebration Exclusive Merchandise
While not much has been released about the celebration merchandise, we did get a sneak peek of the line coming to Disneyland Resort in May 2025. The collection is reminiscent of the bright colors of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse’s celebration outfits and the decor that is promised throughout the Resort.
