Food Allergies at Disney

Walt Disney World is one of the most allergy-friendly vacation destinations in the world. Whether you or a family member have a food allergy or dietary restriction, Disney goes above and beyond to make sure everyone can enjoy a safe and delicious dining experience.

What Disney Does for Guests with Food Allergies

  • Ingredient Transparency: Cast Members are trained to help answer ingredient questions, and chefs can often provide a full ingredient list for menu items upon request.
  • Allergy-Friendly Menus: Most quick-service and table-service restaurants across the parks and resorts offer allergy-friendly menus that highlight options free from common allergens like gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, soy, fish, and shellfish.
  • Special Diet Requests: At table-service restaurants, you can request to speak with a chef or specially trained Cast Member to discuss your specific needs. They’re knowledgeable, attentive, and often able to customize meals just for you.
  • Dedicated Preparation Areas: Disney takes cross-contamination seriously. Allergy-friendly meals are prepared in dedicated kitchen areas using separate equipment when needed.
  • Mobile Order Allergy Options: Select quick-service restaurants in the My Disney Experience app allow you to order allergy-friendly meals through mobile order. Look for the “Allergy-Friendly” option when customizing your meal.
Infographic providing tips for handling food allergies at Walt Disney World, including advice on noting allergies on reservations and using allergy-safe snacks.

Tips for Handling Food Allergies During Your Trip

  • Note Allergies on Reservations: When making a table-service reservation online or via the app, there’s a section to indicate food allergies. Be sure to list them so the restaurant is prepared. When you arrive at the restaurant, be sure the host notes there is an allergy in the party before you are seated. If they don’t be sure to mention all allergies.
  • Speak Up at Quick-Service Locations: Even if you’re using mobile order, you can ask to speak with a Cast Member or even the Chef if you’re unsure about ingredients or preparation practices.
  • Bring Allergy Cards: If you have multiple allergies or prefer clear communication, consider bringing printed allergy cards that list your dietary restrictions. Disney chefs are used to reviewing these.
  • Use Allergy-Safe Snacks: While Disney is great with meals, it’s still a good idea to bring your own pre-packaged allergy-safe snacks—especially for little ones or if you have very specific needs.
  • Visit the First Aid Centers: If you need medical assistance or a cool, quiet place to manage a reaction, First Aid Centers in each park are well-equipped and staffed by professionals.
  • Look for Dedicated Allergy-Safe Brands: Some snacks sold in the parks, like Enjoy Life products, are free from common allergens and clearly labeled.
