Full Review of GEO-82: EPCOT Adult Exclusive Bar

GEO-82

EPCOT recently opened their first adult-only bar and lounge in World Celebration that pays homage to the history of the icon of the park, Spaceship Earth, GEO-82. We visited GEO-82 to try out some of the menu and share our must try’s with you! Read on for a full review of GEO-82 at EPCOT in Walt Disney World.

Review of GEO-82 Bar & Lounge at EPCOT

Before we get into the review, we want to be sure you know we paid for our dining experience out of pocket and were not hosted by Disney or given any special opportunities. Our review is an honest discussion of the experiences we had.

Theme & Location

GEO-82 is located in World Celebration, on the far side of Spaceship Earth in an area that was once used as a corporate lounge for the Siemens company. Technically, the lounge is not located in Spaceship Earth, but on the second floor of “Project of Tomorrow” (the exit to Spaceship Earth). It can be accessed from the right-side door to “Project of Tomorrow” and might not stand out if you aren’t searching for it. This gives it a feel of being an exclusive location set away from the crowds in the park.

The lounge is located on the second floor and an elevator or stairs are available up to the lounge waiting area. Once upstairs, you are be greeted by a Cast Member who will direct you to the waiting area as your table is prepared. The waiting area begins to set the tone for the style of the space – think chic, mid-century modern with a focus on geometric shapes and warm golden tones.

Once your table is ready, you are brought through a hallway that features authentic Alucobond tiles – the same style of tiles that cover the exterior of Spaceship Earth.

The lounge features plush booths, intimate seating nooks, a large bar, and floor‑to‑ceiling windows overlooking World Celebration Gardens and World Showcase Lagoon. The view is perfect to watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us, the nightly EPCOT fireworks show, and a dessert party is offered for the best seating in the house. However, we were told that if you get a reservation around 7:30 PM, you will still be able to see the fireworks but will not be seated near the windows.

Theme & Location Review

KMV Rating: 8/10

We love the design of the space and the views from the floor to ceiling windows are arguably the best in EPCOT. The feeling of exclusivity of the space makes the prices (more to come) understandable and a welcomed breather from the day in a busy park. We didn’t give the theme and location a 10/10 because of the bar seating. If you’re seated at the bar, your back is facing the view and you lose out a bit on the experience. It would have been great if the wall behind the bar was an unobstructed mirror to allow guests seated at the bar to still get a bit of the beautiful view.

Menu

The menu includes small bites, artisanal cocktails, zero-proof cocktails, beer, and wine. At the front of the menu is a cocktail key that notes the type of glassware used, if the drink is shaken, stirred, or carbonated, and the type of ice used. Next to each cocktail these elements are noted as well as the type of flavor you can expect. This is one of the most “non-traditional” menus we’ve ever seen at a Disney lounge, with cocktails that are brand new to us, so the cocktail key and descriptions of the taste were helpful when selecting our drinks.

This is one, if not the most, expensive bar menus are Walt Disney World, with cocktails starting at $23.

GEO-82 Menu Review

KMV Rating: 7/10

The cocktail menu stands out as having some of the most inventive drinks we’ve seen on a Disney menu, with everything from a leek martini to a Mezcal cocktail with carrot, cinnamon, lime, and pink peppercorn. There are lots of options that are outside of the box, including two zero-proof cocktails, and a High Brow Batanga that we’re sure will be a favorite. The wine menu has a variety of options that are different than those that can be found in other Disney bars and lounges, making it a nice spot for wine lovers. The beer menu is similar to that of most Disney lounges, but it is nice to see a non-alcoholic IPA on the menu. We enjoyed all of the drinks we’ve tried but do wonder if they are too “out of the box,” with no vodka based options and drinks that are “alcohol-first” tasting. For visitors who like a sweater drink, we’d recommend ordering off-menu, as they do have a full bar.

A plate of Cannellini Hummus from GEO-82 garnished with colorful vegetables, served with crispy flatbreads and a drink in a glass in the background.

The small bites menu has a number of great savory options, including a charcuterie board that was -chef’s kiss-, and a Cannellini Hummus that we’re still thinking about. The only item we felt it was missing was a sweet option.

We should note that we haven’t tried everything on the menu, so our rating is based of off the items we’ve tried and the overall variety. We tried the below items:

  • Caramelized Leek Martini
  • Strawberry and Coconut ‘Right Hand’
  • Brown Butter Old-Fashioned
  • High Brow Batanga
  • Charcuterie Board
  • Cannellini Hummus
